Jameer Nelson injured his right shoulder against the Dallas Mavericks the other night on a foul by Erick Dampier. Jameer is having the best season of his career. He has been averaging 16.7 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.5 rebounds for the season. He has been the floor leader for his team who is now one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference with 36 wins and 11 losses.

Jameer was thought to have only dislocated his right shoulder. MRI results have showed that he tore his right labrum. This would mean that he could be out for weeks and maybe even longer if he decides to go under the knife. This will make life hard for the Orlando Magic who are trying to chase the top-seeded Celtics for the best record in the Eastern Conference. They will also struggle to secure home court advantage for the playoffs with Jameer out of the lineup.

The Magic will most likely move Anthony Johnson to the starting point guard position. He is their only healthy backup point guard as of the moment. He is averaging 4.3 points and 2.6 assists in 18.4 minutes this season. Orlando fans will have to wait and see if the team will be making some moves to acquire or sign a point guard to backup Anthony Johnson.
