What is Happening to the Pistons?

That question leaves people wondering why the Pistons are on a six-game losing streak. The Detroit Pistons were once feared because of their tenacious defense and steady offensive sets; simply said, an all-around game. Things seemed to turn around when they traded Chauncey Billups. In return, the Pistons got Allen Iverson. They pulled the trigger on the trade most likely because of the coming of age of Rodney Stuckey. He has been playing well and showing signs that he could play the point for the Pistons.

The problem with that trade was that they probably didn’t anticipate that Rodney Stuckey would be playing more like a shooting guard. He is someone who will be looking for his shot in order to be effective. Now, you have a team with Allen Iverson, Richard Hamilton, and Rodney Stuckey who are all better players when they look to shoot first. Who will set up the plays? Who will calm the team down when they are playing at a pace not fit for them? What the Pistons need now is a true point guard.

The Pistons have lost 15 of their last 20 regular season games. It seems like there will be no way that they will once again have the Central Division crown because as of the moment, the Cavs have a 16-game lead over the Pistons.

To top off the Pistons’ terrible performance of late, they have a five-game road trip; starting with their loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Pistons will face the Heat, Hornets, Magic, and Celtics. Let’s see how Detroit will bounce back from their losses.
