The Boston Celtics signed Center Mikki Moore earlier today. He was signed to help Boston’s front line while Kevin Garnett is out with an injury.

Kevin Garnett injured his knee in a game against the Utah Jazz. He was going up for an alley-hoop play. Even before landing, there seemed to be injury to his knee. He was able to go on his own back to the locker but he couldn’t walk normally. He wanted to return later in the game but he was stopped by the Celtics’ staff.

Mikki Moore will try to partly fill the void left by Kevin Garnett. I say “partly” because can anyone really fill a void left by Kevin Garnett? …I don’t think so. Moore is known to be a defensive presence in the paint as well as a pretty good dunker on the offensive end. He will bring energy and experience to the Boston team. He is on his eleventh season now. He averaged 3.5 points and 3.5 rebounds this season with the Kings before agreeing to a contract buyout. He was only getting very limited minutes with the Kings this season.

We will see if Mikki Moore will be able to help the Boston Celtics recapture the league’s best record or at least, the best record in the Eastern Conference.
