Best Point Guard in the NBA: Chris Paul

The New Orleans Hornets are one of the most blessed teams to have Chris Paul on their roster. They picked Chris Paul with the 4th overall selection in the NBA Draft a few years back. Chris went on to win the Rookie of the Year Award in that season. Although the New Orleans Hornets didn’t make the playoffs, they were assured a bright future with their young point guard at the helm.
A few years later, the New Orleans have one of the best point guards to ever play in the NBA. Right now, in my opinion, the Hornets have the number one point guard in the league. Chris has the complete game for a point guard. There is no one else in the league right now who can match his speed, talent, and ability as a point guard. He has incredible slashing skills to match his unbelievable quickness. To complement his slashing, Chris has developed an outside jumper. He is also capable of finding his teammates even in the tightest situations. He has built a trust for them. Chris has the statistics to prove his effectiveness. He is averaging 21.4 points, 11.1 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game this season.
When Chris was out for the Hornets during the season, the Hornets truly struggled. The team hardly won any games without Paul. They needed Chris to be there for them to distribute the ball and lead them to victory. Chris Paul deserves to be one of the top candidates for this year’s MVP award, but Lebron James seems to have it in the bank already. Let’s see if Chris Paul can continue to improve his game and eventually win an NBA Championship. He is surely today’s best point guard.
