No More Suns in the Postseason?

The Phoenix Suns’ hopes of capturing a playoff spot in the West is slowly and almost surely slipping off their fingertips. The Phoenix Suns are now 5 games behind the Dallas Mavericks who hold the 8th spot in the Western Conference. What could have caused this downfall?
One. The Suns lost Amar’e Stoudemire to injury. Maybe you can even make that reason number two, three, four, and five. Amar’e is the best offensive player for the Phoenix Suns. He is one of the most unstoppable bigmen in the league. Until he had to undergo surgery in his eye. This seems to be the only thing that got in his way. He was averaging 21.4 points and 8.1 rebounds for the Suns before he had to be stopped from playing. The only reason Amar’e’s numbers seem to be down this season is because of their coach in the first half of the season. Terry Porter slowed the pace too much and reduced Amar’e’s effectiveness.
Next reason, TERRIBLE DEFENSE. The Phoenix Suns are displaying terrible defense. Sure, they’re offense seems more fluid nowadays with their new head coach. The problem is their defense has suffered greatly. They are now one of the worst defensive teams in the league and it reflects on their last 10 games. The Suns have only won three of their last ten games.
Although Shaq has been phenomenal of late, the Suns are in deep trouble. The Suns are known to be yearly playoff contenders. This is a tragic circumstance for the Suns. They will have to dig down deep and hard into their hearts to make a final push for that 8th and final spot in the Western Conference Playoffs. Everyone has to step up.
