Lakers Drop Two in a Row

The Los Angeles Lakers lost once again to the Charlotte Bobcats who have beaten them 6 of their last 7 meetings. The Bobcats beat the Lakers, 94-84. Most probably don’t know that the Lakers struggle so much to a team that’s below .500. The Bobcats seem to be the Kryptonite of the Top-seeded (in the Western Conference) Los Angeles Lakers.
Gerrald Wallace scored 21 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and swatted 5 shots to lead the Bobcats. Six players scored in double-figures for Charlotte. Raymond Felton had 16 and rookie D.J. Augustin contributed 14. Okafor had 13, Diaw had 11 points and 12 assists, and Raja Bell, known for his defensive mindset contributed 10 points. It took a team effort to bring down the high powered Lakers. Kobe had a sub-par game with 25 points but went 11-28 from the field, about 39%. Lamar and Pau had 20 and 16 points respectively.
Whatever happens in the Lakers’ final few games, they have already been assured the number one spot in Western Conference. Kobe is once again having an MVP-type season. We will see if the Lakers could regain their momentum and bring it with them entering the playoffs. The Lakers will most likely face the Mavericks in the first round.
