The Orlando Magic defeated the Atlanta Hawks in their last meeting 88-82, thanks to Dwight Howard’s 20-20 performance; his ninth this season. Dwight Howard led his team with 21 points, grabbed 23 boards, dished 5 dimes, stole the ball 3 times, and rejected 4 shot attempts. Talk about an all-around game. He also did this against one of the top teams in the East, the Atlanta Hawks who hold the 4th spot in the Eastern Conference standings. Once again, Dwight has proven to be a nearly unstoppable force inside the paint.

Dwight also got help from his fellow all-star Rashard Lewis who scored 16 points and their newest teammate this season, Rafer Alston who scored 14 points. Rafer has been a big help for the team ever since Jameer Nelson had to be removed from the lineup due to an injury. Jameer was also supposed to be one of three Magic players invited to participate in the All-Star game.

On the other hand, Joe Johnson led his team with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Both Josh Smith and Al Horford recorded double-doubles for their team. Josh Smith had 19 points and 11 rebounds while Horford had 13 points and 13 rebounds.

The Magic have now won the 2 straight and 8 of their last 9 games to keep pace with the Boston Celtics who are trying to secure the 2nd spot in the Eastern Conference Playoff picture. The Hawks on the other hand, have lost 3 consecutive games and 6 of their last 8. They will probably hold on to the 4th spot in the East.
