Now is not the right time to get suspended. And luckily, Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic was able to escape possible suspension for incurring his 6th technical foul which was rescinded by the NBA. Howard had been warned that should he incur his 6th technical, NBA rules call for a one-game suspension. He is in the same boat as Kobe Bryant who is likewise one technical away from being suspended for a game as well.

Apparently, his technical was uncalled for. He was supposedly called for a technical for Taunting Cleveland Cavalier’s Anderson Varejao which seemed to be more of an emphatic reaction to his made shot despite being held down. Also, he wasn’t even looking at the fallen Varejao, a clear indication that he was in no way taunting his defender after the made shot.

“I was playing with emotion,” said Howard after the Game 4 win which gave the Magic a commanding 3-1 series lead. “You get in the game and you score a big bucket, you let your emotions take over.”

Howard also admitted he may need to find a way to close his mouth to avoid getting the fateful seventh technical.

“I might have to really use some duct tape.” admitted a smiling Howard, who now has some breathing room with five.
