Shaq Should Ponder Future and Shut Up

By Gamezone Insider | June 7th, 2009

shaqShaquille O’ Neal has something in common as far as the Los Angele Lakers and the Orlando Magic is concerned; he brought both of them to the NBA finals. While he had more success with the Lakers, he should stop trying to berate the Magic for their embarassing loss to the Lakers in Game 1.

For one, he should be more concerned on what his future holds. All former NBA greats including the famed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar cannot figure out why Shaq has to yap about Dwight Howard or Orlando coach Stan Van Gundy for making it to the finals. In fact, their feat is something that should be a model for how basketball is really played: no superstars but being successful.

Why else do you think many people are rooting for the Magic? Because they are underdogs. They were not even in the list of teams expected to make the NBA finals yet they are there! That alone is an achievement.

For Shaq, you didn’t even make the playoffs. Despite a star-studded team, one can say Shaq is already done with playing and should be among the respected NBA Legends who have gone on to focus on better things in life like planning their life.

Shaquille O’ Neal is no doubt one of the greatest. But his verbal attacks are hurting him more than helping him gain the respect of the fans and the other players. Shaq is nearing retirement and by this time, he should be mature.

I prefer Shaq over Kobe but it seems that they are both in the same fold: ARROGANT and FULL OF HOT AIR that takes the philosophy of basketball to all the wrong level. They are ruining the real deal when it comes to basketball for kids and aspiring players. Hopefully the ones who idolize them will realize that soon!

It is basketball sense for dummies if you ask me.
