Richard Jefferson Going to the San Antonio Spurs!
Don’t be surprised in the next couple of days if you see Richard Jefferson donning a new uniform. If the terms of the trade finally become official, Jefferson will be moving over to the San Antonio Spurs which will further bolster its talented front court.
The trade is a 3 for 1 deal according to preliminary sources. Under the deal, Milwaukee Bucks’ Jefferson will go to the Spurs in exchange for veterans Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas and Fabricio Oberto. The Bucks are open to the idea to free up some cap space. Jefferson averaged 19.6 points for the Bucks last season
Vince Carter is another prominent name in trade talks but it looks like these will die down once Jefferson joins the Spurs.
The deal, first reported by Yahoo! Sports, has the Spurs sending veterans Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas and Fabricio Oberto to the Bucks, who are looking to shed the remaining two years, $29.2 million on Jefferson’s contract for the Spurs’ expiring contracts. The contracts of Bowen and Oberto are only partially guaranteed for a total of $3.9 million for next season.
