Lamar Odom Chooses Titles Over Career Security

By Gamezone Insider | August 1st, 2009

Lamar Odom stayed true to his word to remain as a Laker as he had agreed to stay on with the team on a multi-year contract. The all-star power forward of the Los Angeles Lakers is reportedly set to receive $33 Million good for four years.

With the move, the efforts by Dwayne Wade to lure his former buddy at the Miami Heat fizzles. Wade had tried to persuade Odom to rejoin him at Miami which is in a rebuilding process. At the moment, the Heat are also trying to pry Utah Jazz star Carlos Boozer. Nothing definite has been reported regarding negotiations.

Going back to Lamar Odom, he may as well end up playing as a Laker. Last season he was the 6th man of the team and it looks like with the exit of Trevor Ariza to Houston, he may be back to the starting lineup unless Coach Phil Jackson has other plans. Remember, they have Ron Artest but of the two, Odom is the likely choice mainly because he is familiar with Jackson’s famed Triangle Offense.
