How I Would Love to See Floyd Mayweather Jr. Lose
Cocky and arrogant. Those are the two words the best describes how Floyd Mayweather Jr. is when he declared that he is the only mega-superstar. Just like his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., I certainly hope he gets what is due to him. It will be recalled that Floyd Mayweather Sr. was in the corner of Ricky Hatton when he was obliterated by Manny Pacquiao via sensational 2nd round KO from the Pac Man.
And when that happened, Mayweather Sr. washed his hands of the loss, leaving the Briton in defeat. Some trainer! He couldn’t even accept defeat. Now, that same Mayweather Sr. will be at his son’s corner this Sunday when Floyd Mayweather Jr. faces dangerous Mexican Juan Miguel Marquez.
Though Floyd Mayweather Jr. has not fought since 2008 after announcing his retirement, anyone would love to see an arrogant SOB lose or better yet knocked out. He is good, but not that good. Success has obviously gone to his head and come Sunday, I join the many people (especially) Filipinos wishing he would be knocked out off his feet to shut him up just like his dad. If that should happen, I wonder what Floyd Mayweather Sr. would do. Can he do the same thing he pulled when Ricky Hatton lost? I wouldn’t be surprised.
Mayweather will face Marquez in the “Number One/Numero Uno” non-title bout at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
